Hallowing

It's almost here, my friends.  I do hope, for your own sake, that you have seen the signs in the fallen leaves and heeded the warnings.  The time of the orange and black will soon be upon us, when we must shelter indoors, in the growing dark, amidst the ghosts and ghouls and wee little beasties.  It's not too late.  There is still time to perform the rites and make the preparations.  It's not too late!

I have laden my table all manner of skulls and treats and Halloween goodness.  The harvest lights have been strung up.  My coffee table is overflowing with velour pumpkins of all sizes.

I have decorated my domain with gravestones and ghosts, the better to lure down the moon and call out the black cats.

I have performed the ritual stabbing of the gourds and squeezed their seedy innards betwixt my eager fingers.

 I am prepared.  I await.

Are you prepared?  O friends, it is not too late for you.

Let it in.  There is still time.

My God, I love this. I haven't visited in a while but this pumpkin...It looks like it's screaming at the transformation it's undergoing. Did it scream while you were carving it? I wouldn't be surprised.

I LOVE Halloween, and wish I'd visited back then.

May your Christmas wish come true.
